The name Wojtek stems from a Syrian brown bear who was purchased to assist the Poland military in moving stockpiles of ammunition and supplies during WWII. Wojtek the "War Bear" was even enlisted as a Polish soldier, and during his tenure ended up with the rank of corporal. The original Wojtek cigars were released in 2019, and over the years the blend has stayed the same, but the cigar dimensions have changed. Initially released as a Perfecto then changed to a Toro, and now to the Wojtek 2023 version, which is a box-pressed Corona Gorda.
